Why Penny Blue? Our bar & restaurant is within Carlisle’s historic old post office building with many original features, so what better name than after the rare stamp. Exclusive to Carlisle, we also serve Penny Blue Rum.

AFTERNOON TEA

As a British tradition, afternoon tea doesn’t have to be only for special occasions. Served in Penny Blue on Thursday served at 2pm, Fridays & Saturdays served at 12pm, 12.30pm, 2.45pm and 3pm. For just £27 per guest our Classic or vegetarian afternoon tea offers a selection of homemade sweets and savouries and served with Farrer’s tea or pressed coffee. Upgrade to add a glass of Prosecco for £34 per guest, or for that extra sparkle, a glass of Taittinger Brut Reserve for £42 per guest.
